The Alberta Food Drive has been conducting a door to door food drive in Sherwood Park every year since 2011. From our first year’s efforts of 11,314 kilograms of food being gathered, the food drive has grown to nearly 20,000 kilograms of non-perishable food collected last year for the Strathcona County Food Bank.
We ask that those wishing to donate, please bag or box their donations and place them on their doorstep before 10:00 a.m. on Saturday Sept 25. We ask you to please make sure that the bags are visible from the street, and contain only non-perishable food items. (No cash, cheques, or garden produce please.) Those wishing to make a monetary donation can do so by e-transfer to firstname.lastname@example.org
The collectors, local members of community, will drive the streets of Sherwood Park, the morning of September 25th to pick up food left on your doorstep. Collections will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will continue until every street has been canvassed.
This project has been approved by AHS and health protocols are expected to be observed by those collecting donations. The Alberta Food Drive is organized by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
