In the days before the food drive, our team of volunteers try to reach every single family home they can, and drop off a collection bag. (We are limited to single family homes because of security rules.)
If you receive a bag, then on Saturday, September 24th, volunteers will be back starting at 10 AM, to pick up your non-perishable food donations. (No cash or cheques please – we can’t process them.)
Please make sure your donation is sitting on your doorstep by 10 AM where it will be clearly visible from the street. Everything picked up will be taken to a food bank in your community. (For instance, Edmonton’s Food Bank receives all of the Edmonton donations.)
Our volunteers try our hardest to get back to all the houses where we delivered bags – but if no one has picked up your donation bag by 12:30 that afternoon, you can drop it off at any major grocery store over the next few days.
If you live in an apartment, condo, or townhouse and you want to participate – please bring a food donation to a grocery store or any firehall.
This is a 100 percent volunteer effort, but it all comes down to your generosity. Thank you so much!
